Introducing the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Disinformation
The APPG on Disinformation brings together parliamentarians from across the political spectrum to confront one of the most urgent challenges of our time: the spread of false, misleading, and manipulative information online. Our mission is to strengthen the UK’s resilience to disinformation, support evidence‑based policymaking, and work collaboratively with experts, industry, and civil society to protect democratic debate.
The Group will explore emerging threats, commission research, convene public and private hearings, and champion practical solutions that uphold transparency, accountability, and the free exchange of ideas.
We were especially grateful to hear from our Ukrainian guest speaker, Yulian, a former prisoner of war, whose testimony brought essential clarity to the human impact of Russia’s disinformation tactics. His contribution underscored why cross‑sector cooperation—between parliamentarians, civil society, the media, and international partners—is so vital.
